Nvidia, a leader in PC graphics made a splash in the smartphone arena with the SoC called Tegra. Then, Tegra 2 came and conquered the Tablet space , atleast by OEM volumes. Having done a silent transition from the PC market to the smartphone market, Nvidia have carved out a name for themselves by delivering performance in small packages. They need to maintain a legacy right ? So, here they are , educating the world of their awesomeness. Have a look at the video demo of the tablet gaming future.
This , my friends is what Nvidia is known for, and i am glad that they are carrying forward the legacy. This demo tell us that , the computing power of portable devices are actually increasing manifold.I am dumb founded by how fast the technology has leaped forward. Driven mainly by Apple in the gaming section.
The quad core next generation Tegra SoC codenamed Kal-El is right now on pre production stage and is expected to hit retail units by August, if the rumor is right.
The demo game called “Glow ball” is going to be released to the Android market when the tablets powered by Kal-eL hit the market as promised. You may be wowed by these kind of stunts, however it’s solely upto the third party developers to take advantage of the hardware. Honestly, Android devices have one of the most powerful hardware on the planet but i don’t see developers pating much attention to it, considering that almost all the new devices launched in 2011 are dual core, and i am yet to be blown away by some insanely rich games. Whereas Apple on the other hand, had incredibly detailed titles with previous generation processor and graphics. With the iPad 2 , the exploit has really started .
I would like to see the same thing happening to Kal-El . I want devs to take it seriously and produce some insane games that i might play on my future device that can support extreme gaming too.
