Ice cream sandwich, the next big thing in the droid world after “Honeycomb” is set to arrive in October or November, according to Google’s ex-CEO Eric Schmidt.
Apparently, during a Salesforce conference, at which the ex-CEO of el goog was present, mentioned to Marc Benioff ( CEO, Salesforce ) :
We have a new operating system, internally known as Ice Cream Sandwich for some reason, which is being released in October/November, which everyone’s really excited about.
According to Google, the ICS version of Android is THE version that will integrate the user experience of both Gingerbread and Honeycomb. Apart from the UI, there are many changes under the hood too, nothing unveiled yet.
The first device that will run the latest version of Android is of course, the next Nexus, which is rumored to be called as Nexus Prime, made by Samsung.
With that said, head on past the break to see the actual video of the conference, which spans more than an hour. You can see Eric making that statement at the 30th minute of that video.
