Microsoft showed off the Windows 8, the next generation of the operating system. A great step towards the touch centric interface has bought Microsoft laurels as well as some criticism in how it has tried to keep the legacy too in the mix. More on that in a separate post.
I now present to you, an overload of visual information on Windows 8. Various demos, some might be repititive, but they are all worthy enough. I just can’t stop looking at the gorgeous UI. First up, Microsoft’s own demo
Nvidia, a leader in PC graphics made a splash in the smartphone arena with the SoC called Tegra. Then, Tegra 2 came and conquered the Tablet space , atleast by OEM volumes. Having done a silent transition from the PC market to the smartphone market, Nvidia have carved out a name for themselves by delivering performance in small packages. They need to maintain a legacy right ? So, here they are , educating the world of their awesomeness. Have a look at the video demo of the tablet gaming future.
This , my friends is what Nvidia is known for, and i am glad that they are carrying forward the legacy. This demo tell us that , the computing power of portable devices are actually increasing manifold.I am dumb founded by how fast the technology has leaped forward. Driven mainly by Apple in the gaming section.
The quad core next generation Tegra SoC codenamed Kal-El is right now on pre production stage and is expected to hit retail units by August, if the rumor is right.
The demo game called “Glow ball” is going to be released to the Android market when the tablets powered by Kal-eL hit the market as promised. You may be wowed by these kind of stunts, however it’s solely upto the third party developers to take advantage of the hardware. Honestly, Android devices have one of the most powerful hardware on the planet but i don’t see developers pating much attention to it, considering that almost all the new devices launched in 2011 are dual core, and i am yet to be blown away by some insanely rich games. Whereas Apple on the other hand, had incredibly detailed titles with previous generation processor and graphics. With the iPad 2 , the exploit has really started .
I would like to see the same thing happening to Kal-El . I want devs to take it seriously and produce some insane games that i might play on my future device that can support extreme gaming too.
As reported eariler, Nvidia has today launched the World’s Fastest DX11 GPU, the GTX 580.
* 512 CUDA CORES
* 1.5 GB of DDR5 memory
* 772MHz clock speed
* 192.4GBps memory bandwidth
* effective memory data rate of 4GHz
About the price :
CRN has a $499 price for us and a recital of NVIDIA’s internal estimate that the GTX 580 bests the GTX 480 by between 20 and 35 percent. It seems, however, that the embargo for this hot new slice of silicon is set for early tomorrow morning, so check back then for the expert review roundup.
Will AMD best Nvidia again ??
Rather,lets hope the price gets more competitive.
The fastest DX11 GPU
You know Nvidia,Right ? the leading graphics accelerator manufacturer in the world recently getting trumped by their rival.
After getting much criticism for their delayed launch of Fermi range (the GT 4xx series), now, they are trying to one-up ATi, oops AMD, by planning to release a new GPU probably in the GTX 5-series ? maybe GTX 580 ? that would be the fastest GPU on the planet is what Nvidia says.
Apparently they say the GPU is cooler and quieter than the current flagship,GTX 480 . And obviously performance is higher.
Anyhow, they have shown a demo of their new GPU through a gameplay of the awesome call of duty black ops and some tessellation demos.
So, will nvidia come to the top again ?
