Nokia have started a countdown meter over at their facebook page hinting at a new Symbian on 24th August, unveiling at Hong Kong, China. last time they said “New Symbian” was the launch of Symbian Anna with devices E6 and X7. Anna has been rolled out for all the Nokia symbian 3 devices like N8,E7,C7 and C6-01, and Belle has been doing it’s beta rounds in the form of leaks, which i am running on my N8 now.
Jay over at MyNokiaBlog has found that Belle is indeed getting launched, but what all devices are we gonna see ? And what would be their specs ? Jay thinks three devices namely the Nokia 700,701 and 600 are going to be launched with Belle. I too think the same.
Also, it’s gonna be awesome to see trolls bitching about Elop killing Symbian, again ! now that Symbian is starting to look awesome with a fancy UI upgrade.
So, what do you think ? will Belle make Symbian attractive for consumers again ?
Also, if you want to follow the event closely follow @varunkrish from FoneArena.com , @clintonjeff from ZOMGitsCJ.com and @jadejavu from SymbianWorld.com will be attending this event and livetweeting it.. There should be a hashtag for that event soon.

Mail has always been criticized on all the Symbian devices, except of course the E-series devices which always used to have great push support through Nokia messaging.
For the first time ever, after starting to use unlimited data connection on my phone, i decided to start using push mail for my commonly used Gmail account but couldn’t figure out how. So, the upcoming illustration will help you configure Exchange active sync on your Symbian 3 device for Google mail, likewise you can add your corporate mail too.
First it was our “favorite” CEO Stephen Elop who foolishly asked to put off live cameras away in a press meet while revealing the N9 clone of Windows phone called “SeaRay”. While that video has faded into oblivion thanks to copyright claims on Youtube, a new one featuring the same version has been found, this might be taken down soon too, take a look :
This is more of a leak than the last video. It has been shot in a factory where the phone might have been produced/tested. Go chinese !
We need to mainly note that there is no Front facing camera or atleast we cannot see. There are capacitive buttons present for interaction. Previously we could not see them. Looks exactly like the N9 (duh!).
So, do you like it ? Or do you still want the N9 ? 😉
Hellz yeah, while Symbian users are whining away with paltry 680 MHz processors in their SMARTphones, here comes a leak which has a supposedly “dumb” S40 device – the Nokia C3-01.5 sporting a 1 GHZ processor with 512 MB RAM and a clear back amoled capacitive display. It definitely looks like the upgraded Nokia C3-01 which is of the touch and type genre of phones. Please take the specs with a pinch of salt, they might not be true.
GSMArena has scored the leak from a chinese site, visit them for more details.
Now, the rant :
Seriously, Nokia ? Smartphones are getting 680MHz processors while S40 dumb phones getting 1 GHZ processor with 512 MB RAM ? On one hand , i am glad S40 is getting powerful with the supposed addition of Qt to the platform, on the other hand, i am pissed. Well, all for the best , i should assume. One day, the new S40 which might be linux based running a fast Qt UI with a much better browser and thousands of nice third party apps might be the biggest Smart/dumbphone hybrid we’d have ever seen. Either way i see, Symbian is SOOO dead haha.
Here is a tutorial i wrote on MyNokiaBlog.com .
This deals with the configuration of Windows Media Player 12 to accommodate DLNA streaming from your Symbian^3 device. It’s very useful for people who want to share their media to their friends in an instant.
So, go ahead read the tutorial here . And enjoy DLNA streaming on your device.
Well, this has been fast, the Nokia X7 and E6 , announced on 12th April has started shipping in less that two months. You can get it in your nearby stores in the coming weeks, and if you are in finland, you can get it today.
You can get to know all about these devices here —> Roundup of the announcement and my thoughts.

In an effort to instill confidence, the Nokia Conversations blog ( Official blog ) has published a post titled “Putting words into action”
The article details some new points about the Microsoft deal in bullet points(More on that in a separate post) and the announcements of Symbian devices X7 and E6 , signaling that they have indeed done SOMETHING and promising to do more. But the interesting part we have to note that, there are going to be more Dual-Sim mobile phones targeted to markets like the BRICs ( Brazil,Russia,India China ) and they have confirmed the existence of a specific C2 dual sim device.
Apparently Stephen has said :
Cseries mobile phones have formed a strong part of the business, he continued. Nokia shipped more than eight million C3 and X2-01 devices so far. Stephen announced that a Dual-SIM device, the Nokia C2, would also be released during the second quarter. More Dual-SIM mobile phones will follow over the rest of the year, he revealed.
The future of Nokia’s next-generation devices was also touched on. Stephen said there’d been progress in this department and that strand of developments would “define some of the future disruptions in our market.”
So, is that the one that leaked in Hackintosh India website ? (Thanks, FoneArena) Have a look :
